PRCF × Bangkok Kunsthalle | Watching Together at the Boundary Exhibition Opens
Rooted in Gangneung's Cultural Heritage, GIAF Expands onto the Global Stage |

Watching Together at the Boundary, an international cooperative exhibition organized by the PharmaResearch Culture Foundation (curated by Sohee Park) and co-hosted by Bangkok Kunsthalle, officially opened on 15 July at Bangkok Kunsthalle in Thailand. The exhibition presents reconfigured moving-image commissions originally created for the Gangneung International Art Festival (GIAF), thoughtfully adapted to the unique spatial context of Bangkok Kunsthalle. Featuring works by Mackerel Safranski, Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook, Yanghee Lee, Jung Yeondoo, and Hong Lee Hyunsook, the exhibition has been praised for its immersive audiovisual experience. Following the press briefing on the opening day, the opening reception featured a celebratory performance by the traditional performing arts group Puneori, as well as an Artist·Curator Talk, offering visitors a meaningful opportunity to engage with the exhibition. PRCF Wins at the 2026 Red Dot Design Award

The official poster for the Gangneung International Art Festival 2025(GIAF25) has been awarded Red Dot Winner award in the Brands & Communication Design category at the 2026 Red Dot Design Award, one of the world’s top three design awards. The award-winning work visually captures the sound waves of "Esiza, Osiza", the vocal chant of Gangneung Dano Gut and the festival slogan, transforming its rhythm into an original visual language. Through this achievement, the intangible heritage and unique identity of Gangneung have been elevated into a contemporary design language recognized on the global stage. Building on this recognition, we look forward to the continued journey of GIAF27 in 2027. We invite you to stay tuned for what comes next. |

PRCF has continuously explored the cultural context and unique narratives of the region to present diverse cultural and artistic activities centered around Gangneung, Gangwon Province. As part of this ongoing journey, the Foundation visited the site of the 2026 Gangneung Danoje Festival Pulrini, Danoda on June 21-22. Through meetings with Professor Hwang Ru-si, a leading expert of the Gangneung Danoje Festival, and musician Woonseok Kim, who has preserved the spirit of Gangneung, as well as through direct participation in the festival, PRCF had the opportunity to deeply explore the tangible and intangible values of Gangneung Danoje. We look forward to your continued support for PRCF’s archival journey, as we carry forward the region’s deeply rooted cultural heritage through the language of contemporary art. |

In collaboration with the Gangneung Culture & Art Foundation(GNCAF), this semester is especially meaningful as it focuses on creative education built around one-on-one mentoring with local visual artist mentors. |
